Building a Greener Future: Volunteering at Lunt Meadows
Building a Greener Future: Volunteering at Lunt Meadows
At INTX, we believe in giving back to the environments and communities we work within. As part of our long-standing partnership with The Mersey Forest, our team recently spent a rewarding day volunteering at Lunt Meadows Nature Reserve. Set within the Sefton coastline, Lunt Meadows is a vital wetland habitat, supporting a diverse range of wildlife. Our team was proud to contribute hands-on support to help maintain and enhance this unique natural space.
Getting Hands-On with Tree Planting
Working alongside The Mersey Forest team, we joined for a day of tree planting. The team rolled up their sleeves and got stuck in, replacing trees that hadn’t taken root. This is an important part of good woodland creation practice, helping new sites thrive, stay healthy and build resilient woodlands for the long term.
By replenishing these areas, we’re helping to ensure strong, sustainable growth that will benefit local biodiversity for years to come. Initiatives like this play a vital role in capturing carbon, improving air quality, and creating natural habitats for wildlife.
It was incredibly rewarding for the team to see the direct impact of their efforts—knowing that each tree planted contributes to a greener, more sustainable future.
A Valued Long-Term Partnership Supporting Sustainability
Volunteering days with The Mersey Forest team have become a real tradition, and it is always a pleasure to work alongside them. Our partnership has developed over the years, reflecting a shared commitment to sustainability, environmental responsibility, and community engagement.
Beyond the planting, our ongoing monthly support helps fund new woodlands, restore habitats, and make green spaces more accessible for local communities. We are proud to support and help drive sustainability within the communities we serve.
Recognised for Sustainable Excellence
Our commitment to sustainability is also reflected in our recent achievement of the Green Tourism Gold Award. This is the highest level of accreditation from Green Tourism, recognising organisations that demonstrate an exceptional commitment to sustainable practices.
The award is granted following a rigorous assessment of environmental management, energy efficiency, community engagement, and responsible business operations. Achieving Gold status signifies that INTX is operating at the forefront of sustainable travel—actively reducing our environmental footprint while continually seeking new ways to support greener tourism and transport solutions.
“We are incredibly proud to have achieved the Green Tourism Gold Award. This recognition reflects our ongoing commitment to reducing our environmental impact and delivering more sustainable travel solutions for our clients, while maintaining the high standards of service they expect from INTX.”

More Than Just a Volunteering Day
Beyond the environmental benefits, the day also provided a valuable team-building experience—bringing colleagues together in a different setting, united by a common purpose.
Looking Ahead
Our volunteering day at Lunt Meadows was a reminder of the tangible difference we can make when we step outside our usual routines and engage with nature. It also reinforced the importance of our long-standing partnership with The Mersey Forest and the role it plays in supporting sustainable landscapes and local communities.
At INTX, we remain committed to driving sustainability and supporting initiatives that create lasting environmental impact. We look forward to seeing the long-term benefits of our work at Lunt Meadows and to future opportunities to get involved and make a difference.
