Looking Back at Eurovision 2023
In May we had the opportunity to be a part of the music event that all of Europe had been waiting for. Eurovision 2023 was held in Liverpool on behalf of Ukraine and the whole city was buzzing with excitement. With groups and individuals arriving from all over the UK and the world, it was an exciting time and we are proud to have been a part of it. Our extensive local knowledge meant that we were uniquely positioned to serve as the ideal transport coordinator.
This was one of our busiest times every for INTX in Liverpool as we were also looking after some of the main sponsors for the headline event providing them with executive transfers and luxury coaches for teams from all over the world.
Taking On The Eurovision Challenge
Our clients were Event Design on behalf of Liverpool City Council and our main task was transfers mainly from Manchester and Liverpool Airports to Liverpool hotels for the Eurovision Village. We also coordinated transfers between the hotels and the venue for two weeks. Some of the challenges we faced during this busy period was that many of our journeys included people coming to the UK for the very first time. This meant that they may not have been familiar with UK airports and often did not speak English.
Some individuals also experienced visa issues, which meant that sometimes there were last minute arrival changes to Heathrow airport instead of local airports. This particular challenge tested our UK wide network and reenforced our strong national presence with established bases in 16 locations across the UK.
Eurovision Success for INTX
Whilst the challenges seemed plenty, we knew that we could rise to the occasion and that all of our hard work throughout the history of INTX would be of great value. One of the greatest assets that we offer at INTX for our clients’ is our client portal. For each client that books with us and particularly during big events such as Eurovision we provide access to a client portal which allows the client to:
- View booking details
- Amend any transfers as needed
- Alert the INTX team immediately of any changes
This helpful tool allowed for information to flow in correctly during Eurovision and ensured that both us and the client were of every pertinent details for each transfer. One of our team was also assigned as the dedicated transport manager for the Eurovision event, which meant that any changes were actioned immediately and there was a point of contact available for our client throughout.
As always, our client’s satisfaction is a top priority and we were pleased to receive positive feedback from our client who even sent flowers to the INTX dedicated transport manager for the event. They noted how impressed they were that INTX were able to keep on top of all the last minute changes and never missed a single detail.
Whilst it was a very busy and challenging time for us, we enjoyed every minute of it. Every artist and individual was picked up by our friendly chauffeurs on time, every time.
