Our Green Journey: January

At the end of 2022, we made a goal to be more transparent about our sustainability efforts in 2023. That is why at  the end of each month, we will be sharing updates on how our journey is going in this effort to be more transparent. This month has mainly been one of reflection and planning. We have been assessing our current initiatives and putting plans in place for how we can see where we need to improve.

One of the goals that we are focusing on this year is to improve our Green Tourism award grade. We’ve put together a timeline with the areas we need to improve, with the goal of being re-assessed to hopefully attain our silver award. One of the areas that we feel we need to improve is taking into consideration our clients’ views and feedback on what we have been doing so far and what we could do to improve.

That is why this month, we began gathering feedback from our clients so that we can see areas where those who we aim to provide the best service to, think we can improve. At INTX, we want to provide the best possible service to our clients whilst tackling to minimise our impact on the environment, that is why feedback from our clients is important to us. We will be using the information from our feedback survey to inform our sustainability strategy moving forward so that we can continue to provide a top quality service whilst caring for the environment.

Last month we planted 27 more trees into our grove and ended 2022 on a high, having surpassed our goal to plant 250 trees in 2022. We are hoping to plant 500 trees this year and at the beginning of February, we will be planting our trees for our January hires. Please keep an eye on our social media at the beginning of February for the announcement on how many trees we will be planting for January.

Whilst we as business cover the whole UK, our home city and where we started is Liverpool. That is why we are keen to be one of the voices working to tackle sustainability issues that Liverpool as a city and the tourism sector are facing. Especially as transport company, we are eager to be part of the solution. That is why we have connected with 2030hub and have considered their advice in our plans for this year.

This month has been one of gathering information and advice that will inform our actions over the next year. Next month, we hope to share information on what those plans are and provide updates on those plans moving forward. Follow us on social media to keep up with updates our green journey as they occur!
