Three Years of Making Journey’s Safer: INTX Proudly Supports Transaid’s Mission

INTX is proud to once again support Transaid this holiday season—our third-year running—as we help make journeys safer and more accessible across sub-Saharan Africa.

Transaid is an international development organisation transforming lives through safe, available, and sustainable transport. It works alongside communities, partners, and governments to improve road safety and access to life-saving healthcare across sub-Saharan Africa.

Transaid partners with institutions in Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Zambia to deliver professional driver training programmes and develop new driving standards. The organisation also uses a partner-led approach to develop innovative and sustainable community-led transport solutions to improve access to vital healthcare services.

Over the last year, Transaid and partners have:

  • Trained 9,000+ professional drivers and riders in Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Ghana
  • Provided 2,000+ eye tests to long-distance truck drivers in Kenya, with 700 pairs of glasses distributed
  • Supported 1,000 minibus taxis in South Africa to adopt the Safe Taxi Charter
  • Published new community-level guidelines for treating severe malaria in children
