Michelle Rushton wrote in the Liverpool Echo (2nd September 2006 edition):
Intx was founded by Michael Lev, who confesses a penchant for “shiny things” – including cars!
He soon persuaded Andrew Globe, also a lover of shiny motors, to get behind the wheel.
After starting with one man, one vehicle and very little finance, the business quickly took off.
Now celebrating being in business for the last 10 years, INTX has a fleet of luxury vehicles
including Chrysler Grand Voyagers and Mercedes Benz E and S classes to provide its clients
with the ultimate in relaxation and comfort.
And Michael and Andrew have counted A-list celebrities such as Britney Spears, Elton John,
Robbie Williams, Oasis, Atomic Kitten, Virgin and Channel 4 among their long list of clients.
“Having seen similar concepts working in London and abroad, we felt that there was an
opportunity to create something new and different in Liverpool with particular emphasis on the
music industry, as a great deal of talent comes from here,” explained Michael.
“However, we do not just concentrate on the entertainment business, we also attract multi-
national corporate companies.”
The duo’s working day involves anything from chauffeuring clients, assigning work, building
customer relations, vehicle management and maintenance, staff management and training, to
dealing with sales enquiries, attending networking meetings for PR and promotional events and
general administration.
Both men admit to having a limited academic background, but they have proved that you can be
successful by having a good idea, plenty of common sense and just getting, in their words, “stuck
in.”
They also believe that the ingredients needed to running a successful chauffeur company are:
“Patience, amiability, communication skills, map reading and planning, driving ability, attention
to detail, organisational skills, coping under pressure and being able to answer three phones at
once!”
Added Michael: “It’s all about understanding the needs of your customers, putting them first and
learning from your mistakes, as well as doing favours, plenty of networking and always giving a
first class service.”
The greatest challenge Michael and Andrew have faced so far was to provide and manage large
fleets for government conferences and EU ministers around the UK, as well as “working with
egotistical American DJs!”
And the highlights? “Meeting some of our favourite personalities and high profile people from
recording artists to royalty – and getting back stage access to gigs and some amazing food!”
In the future, Michael and Andy are looking to expand their business – as well as buying lots
more shiny things!
